Elisaveta Yaroslavna, the eldest daughter of Yaroslav the Wise, was the wife of Harald III Hardrada, the King of Norway. Harald fell in love with Elisaveta during his first visit to Kyiv. As a young girl, Elisaveta loved to read, and Harald dedicated romantic poems to her. Known as the beautiful and educated Ellisiv, she became a significant figure in Scandinavian history. She was the mother of two daughters, Maria and Ingegerd, the latter of whom became the queen consort of Denmark.
