Description Sculptural Figure "Princess Agatha"
The daughters of Yaroslav the Wise became European princesses who influenced every facet of European life—from cultural customs to political affairs. Freedom and dignity were their guiding principles. Strong and resilient, they reshaped laws, governed states, and remained true Women—free-spirited and proud of their heritage. We are not entering Europe; we are returning to it.
Agatha Yaroslavna, Queen of England, was the wife of Edward the Exile. She connected the current British royal family, the House of Windsor, to the Kyivan Rurik dynasty through Scotland’s ruling House of Stuart. After Edward’s death, the Norman Conqueror seized power, forcing Agatha and her children to flee to Scotland. Her daughter, Margaret, later became Queen of Scotland, and her granddaughter, Matilda, married King Henry I of England, becoming the great-grandmother of Richard the Lionheart.
