Sculptural Figure "Mykola Gogol"

One of the most renowned Ukrainians worldwide, whose national identity sparks endless debates. A Ukrainian who wrote in Russian—not a paradox, but a reality. Gogol’s literary masterpieces are filled with mystical imagery and folkloric elements that send shivers down the spine. His most famous works include Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka, Taras Bulba, and Viy.

Inspired by the writer’s creative legacy, we crafted this unique figurine of Mykola Gogol.

Each piece is created using a unique technique combining paper, sawdust, water, buckwheat husks, and natural paste. Hand-molded, baked at high temperatures, sanded, and meticulously painted with acrylic paints, these figurines replicate the charm of vintage ornaments. Small details are crafted with cotton wool and decorated with fabric appliqués, preserving a century-old tradition.
