Description Souvenir "Hryhorii Skovoroda"
"The world tried to catch me but failed." Hryhorii Skovoroda, a renowned Ukrainian philosopher and thinker, championed the idea of meaningful labor and a balance between asceticism and hedonism. For him, quality always trumped quantity. Known as the wandering philosopher, he sought to uncover the invisible through the visible. At the core of his philosophy lies the idea of self-control—a central axis of the human spirit amid life’s many temptations.
Tragically, the Hryhorii Skovoroda Museum was one of the first cultural landmarks destroyed by a Russian missile at the onset of the full-scale invasion in 2022.
Inspired by his legacy, we’ve created this unique souvenir figurine.
An ideal gift for those who love self-discovery, reflective travel, and philosophical musings.
Handcrafted using a blend of paper, sawdust, water, buckwheat husks, and natural paste, each figurine undergoes meticulous sculpting, baking at high temperatures, sanding, and hand-painting with acrylics in the style of vintage decorations.
Durable, eco-friendly, and safe for children and pets, these figurines honor the enduring legacy of Ukraine’s wandering philosopher.
Figure size: 14.5 × 5.5 × 4 cm.
