Description Dress wiht embroidery Yavorivska
Fabric: Blue linen
Embroidery technique: Flat (machine embroidery)
A dress of straight cut with 3/4 sleeves. It features a belt with tassels, which adds a special charm to the dress.
The embroidery comes from the Carpathian region of Lviv Oblast. This is the name given to the delicate floral ornamentation that adorned women's headscarves and jackets, known as "kabats," over a hundred years ago. Since the 19th century, they have been affectionately called "Glorious Yavorivka" because the patterns consist of "fir trees," "little trees," "bunches," and "curves," symbolizing the richness of blooming Ukrainian gardens.
The ornament is inspired by the design of an ancient scarf from Yavoriv in the same museum.
