Christmas collection "Heavenly host choir"
Every Christmas we sing carols about the star which is the foreteller and symbol of the Bethlehem star that informed about the birth of the Son of God. And it used to be a mark thanks to which the prophets and kings who were on their way to greet the Holy Baby were guided. The form of each Christmas star is traditionally eight pointed, but reduced by several times. Usually the carolers made a big star from a sieve to which 4 pairs of cattle horns were fixed and glued with colourful paper, they decorated it with ribbons and put a small icon depicting Jesus in the centre of the star. Eight angels glorify the Son of God by means of songs and music on eight stars of “The Angel Choir”. Number “eight” is the symbol of infinity. Angels are the inhabitants of heaven which blessed the miracle of Jesus’ birth. The craftswomen put the folk instruments in their hands: kobza, lyre, tambourine, trembita, pipe, cembalo and violin. The heaven musicians are depicted playing in the sky or above the cities and villages, in cozy interiors of holiday homes. Raise your head to the sky – may the angel be playing for you right now? Stop and close your eyes in your house – isn’t it the angel choir inviting you with the help of its tunes to recall the eternal and put all the chores aside?
