Unique art toys from these collections are not just Christmas tree decorations that fantastically fit our ideas about favourite winter family celebrations. Sculpture vintage toys “European Christmas Classics” are the examples of small statuary that has both emotional and artistic-ethnographic value. They take ecologically clean materials: wood shaving and shredding, buckwheat husks, milled paper, mixed glue on the basis of flour paste. The toys similarly to biscuits are baked in specially made forms in ovens becoming solid and remaining light. Moreover, the process of decoration of Christmas tree with the help of our works can be trusted to children because they don’t break. The images of old city Christmas tree toys that used to be the most popular at the beginning of the previous century and still remain favourite are picked up for the reproduction in this collection.
It’s hard to imagine the European New Year holidays without “The Nutcracker”. The faery plot of the Christmas tale by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann is about the girl’s dreams on the eve of the holiday. Using Hoffmann’s fairy tale the composer Peter Tchaikovsky wrote his world famous ballet “The Nutcracker” (one of the attributes of the New Year holidays) in Saint Petersburg in 1892. On the basis of Hoffmann’s fairy tale and Tchaikovsky’s ballet in 2015 Ternopil craftsmen created a collection of toys that is becoming popular in the whole world. Size: 10x4
