This dress has a trapeze-cut silhouette with a V-shaped neckline at the back, and the back of the skirt is gathered. It is crafted based on the design of Ukrainian traditional attire, specifically the "yupka."
With a keen interest in the Trypillian culture, we have created an embroidered dress adorned with symbols representing the union of the celestial and earthly elements, which were found on clay figurines from the Trypillian era. Signs and symbols serve as an archaic language through which God communicates with us. The Trypillian symbols are drawings used to explain the cosmology of the Proto-Slavs.
The infinity sign, or "bezkinky," symbolizes lineage, family, and continuity. It signifies boundless love and the connection between generations, as well as the transmission of traditions and values from ancestors to descendants. The infinity symbol is a sacred meander of cyclicity and the triumph of good over evil.
The dress is embellished with hand-embroidered woolen threads. Before embroidering, we carefully treat the threads to ensure their colorfastness over time. Wool also creates a visually intriguing volumetric effect in the patterns.
It is worth noting that woolen thread embroidery is traditional for the Western Podillya region. According to one theory, the prevalence of black colors in embroidery was influenced by the breeding of a special breed of black sheep, from which the threads were made.
